Lighting & Special Effects

The cheapest way to transform a difficult room, and the difference between photographs that look like an event and photographs that look like a function room.

If a budget is tight, lighting is where we tell people to spend first. Uplighting a beige ballroom in a deep colour changes the entire read of the space for a fraction of what décor costs, and pin-spotting the tables makes every centrepiece photograph properly.

Beyond the basics: cold spark fountains for entrances and cake moments, haze to make beams visible, laser and beam shows for late-night, custom gobo monograms projected on a wall or dance floor, neon and custom signage, and a programmed dance-floor wash that changes with the set.

Effects are venue-dependent. Cold sparks are permitted in far more venues than traditional pyro because they are cool to the touch, but haze will set off smoke detection in some buildings and we check that before promising it. Everything is designed on a plot and operated live rather than left on a static preset.

Frequently asked

Are cold sparks safe indoors?
In most venues, yes — they are cool to the touch and permitted far more widely than traditional pyro. We still confirm with the venue and fire marshal.
Will haze set off the fire alarm?
In some buildings it will. We check the detection type with the venue in advance and either isolate the zone or design without it.
